Floor removal services

Resilient and textile coverings

Glued carpet, needle felt and fibre coverings are stripped mechanically or removed in sections after material assessment. Linoleum, PVC, vinyl and cushion vinyl and adhesive layers are removed according to the assessed build-up and agreed scope.

Timber and composite floors

Bonded or floating parquet, boards and laminate can be removed. Subfloors, battens and loose fills beneath timber floors are included following condition and material checks.

Ceramic and mineral coverings

Tiles, stone and terrazzo are removed using methods suited to the existing structure. Adhesive and mortar beds are removed to agreed limits; suitability for the new floor must be assessed with the following trades.

Screed and subfloor removal

Cement, anhydrite, flowing and dry screeds are removed after checking layers, services and retained elements. Exposing concrete slabs for height changes or moisture damage is agreed per project; diagnosis, drying and rebuilding are separate services.

Substrate preparation and adhesive residues

Milling or grinding adhesives, resins and levelling compounds requires prior material and any necessary contaminant assessment. Bituminous or unknown older adhesives must not be mechanically treated without checks. Methods, extraction and precautions follow the findings; contaminated materials require separately defined specialist procedures.

Scope of work

Floor removal in practice

Project locations and handover

The work shown was carried out at sites in Zurich, Bern, Ticino and Basel. After completion of the agreed work, the areas worked on were handed over fully cleared.

Removing flooring with a chisel

The flooring is loosened using a wide chisel with a wheeled guide. Removed material is collected for subsequent clearance.

Mechanical removal of flooring

A floor removal machine separates the existing covering from the substrate. The loosened strips are gathered for removal from the site.

Mechanical preparation of the substrate

The exposed floor surface is mechanically treated with a rotary machine. Remaining surface residues are removed in the process.

Removing flooring with a ride-on stripper

A ride-on stripper removes the flooring mechanically. Connected extraction helps capture dust during the work.

Requirements and preparation

Older adhesives and materials are assessed first. A substrate ready for new flooring requires agreement with the following trades.
