Dismantling released laboratory facilities

SEGIM Schweiz supports agreed laboratory refurbishment and clearance projects. Prior-use assessment, required cleaning, decontamination and written clearance by the operator and specialists are prerequisites. Chemical or biological decontamination is separate from mechanical dismantling.

Furniture and equipment

Fume cupboards, safety cabinets, laminar-flow units, benches and storage units are assessed for connections, weight and condition. Chemical storage must be emptied, decontaminated where necessary and released before work.

Services and specialist drainage

Gas, compressed air, purified water and specialist wastewater systems are mechanically dismantled only after specialist isolation, required flushing, draining and depressurisation. Neutralisation and distribution equipment require residue and clearance checks.

Extract systems and filters

Ducts, scrubbers and fans may be included. HEPA filters and affected housings require separate contamination assessment and agreed handling, packaging and disposal before opening.

Protection, records and regions

Released materials are separated where possible under VVEA. Controlled waste, required records and responsibilities are agreed. Barriers, extraction and PPE follow risk and hygiene requirements without a zero-exposure guarantee. Projects are planned in Basel, Zurich, Aargau, Valais, Vaud and throughout Switzerland.
